چکیده

In this work we study the correlated Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman scattering process, called here SaS. The SaS, proposed by Klyshko in 1977 [1], is an effect where the same phonon participates in the Stokes and anti-Stokes scattering processes. The Feynman diagrams of Figure 1 show the Stokes (S), the anti-Stokes (as) and the SaS processes. The SaS process has not been considered in current treatments of Raman scattering and can bring changes in the use Raman spectroscopy for local temperature measurements [2]. Furthermore, these photons can arise as an important source of correlated photon pairs, widely used in quantum information, for example, in the implementation of the quantum memory [3].

Investigation of Scalar Modulation Instability in the Presence of Raman Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fibers

In this paper, by including Raman scattering in the coupled-mode equations, the scalar modulation instability in photonic crystal fibers is investigated. The evolution of the pump, Stokes and anti-Stokes waves along the fiber as well as the conversion efficiency for two cases, with and without Raman effect, are studied. The effect of anti-Stokes seed and the pump depletion on the evolution of S...

Cancellation of laser phase fluctuations in Stokes and anti - Stokes generation

In the coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering process, the spectrum of the generated optical phonon depends on the degree of temporal correlation between the pump laser field and the Stokes field. When the two fields are strongly correlated, such as when the Stokes field is generated with stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), the spectral shape of the optical phonon is found experimentally and theo...

Revealing silent vibration modes of nanomaterials by detecting anti-Stokes hyper-Raman scattering with femtosecond laser pulses.

We proposed a scheme in which normal Raman scattering is coupled with hyper-Raman scattering for generating a strong anti-Stokes hyper-Raman scattering in nanomaterials by using femtosecond laser pulses. The proposal was experimentally demonstrated by using a single-layer MoS2 on a SiO2/Si substrate, a 17 nm-thick MoS2 on an Au/SiO2 substrate and a 9 nm-thick MoS2 on a SiO2-SnO2/Ag/SiO2 substra...

Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering Correlation Spectroscopy: Probing Dynamical Processes with Chemical Selectivity

We report coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering correlation spectroscopy (CARS-CS) that measures the fluctuation of the CARS signal from scatterers in a subfemtoliter excitation volume. This method probes dynamical processes with chemical selectivity based on vibration spectroscopy. High-sensitivity CARS-CS measurements are carried out with epi-detection or polarization-sensitive detection. The...

Statistics of Raman-Active Excitations Via Measurement of Stokes–Anti-Stokes Correlations

A general fundamental relation connecting the correlation of Stokes and anti-Stokes modes to the quantum statistical behavior of vibration and pump modes in Raman-active materials is derived. We show that under certain conditions this relation can be used to determine the equilibrium number variance of phonons. Time and temperature ranges for which such conditions can be satisfied are studied a...
